Rebecca is a registered psychologist who practices in her capacity as a psychotherapist. She prefers to work from a Gestalt framework that she integrates with evidence based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness. She has found this approach the most impactful in her life and fulfilled/s the deep desire to understand her own “process”.

By process, she means those things Rebecca does out of her own awareness (which helped her to survive her childhood!) and that still get in the way now she is an adult. This approach is fundamentally about the present moment, developing awareness, and getting in touch with the authentic self. She loves this approach because she gets to show up as a real person rather than playing a “therapist role”, to practice being authentic with clients and role modelling this in a safe environment. She is constantly learning about both herself and her clients.

Rebecca has extensive therapeutic experience working with both adults and couples. Her approach is suited to people from all walks of life. That said, she has noticed that her approach most often appeals to people who may have seen two or more psychologists in the past. They may be looking for something different or they may already know a lot about Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or what is available on “Dr Google”. As a therapist, she is honest, open, caring and real.

Rebecca is a registered psychologist with more than 14 years’ experience across both corporate and counselling psychology. She has experience supporting individuals and couples manage difficulties across a wide range of areas. She has worked as a psychologist delivering counselling and psychotherapy to Employee Assistance Program participants, as well as working in Private Practice.

Rebecca is a resourceful and enthusiastic practitioner who is non-judgemental, open and responsive. She is dedicated to creating a safe and comforting environment where you can explore issues and make positive transitions in your life. Rebecca can help you to live in the moment by exploring an awareness of who you are and how you can make informed choices in your life.

HOBBIES:

In her spare time, Rebecca is learning to read tarot, indulges in yoga, takes time out dancing and reading fiction. She has also been known to lurk in the self-help section of the bookstore. Learning about personal development, alternative mental health strategies (hypnotherapy, kinesiology, Network Spinal Analysis, acupuncture, NLP, bodywork and more). This interest is driven by having seen both conventional (CBT, medication) and unconventional approaches (electric shock therapy, reiki, acupuncture and psychic intervention) assist her clients in their personal journey.
