Alison Bickell is known for her commitment to employee wellbeing with a specific focus on the prevention of workplace stress and burnout. Her commitment stems from her personal experience of burnout and her realisation that workplaces are generally confused about how to tackle stress at its source. She acknowledges that while workplaces often do a great job of promoting workplace wellbeing initiatives like lunchtime yoga, get fit programs, and healthy living initiatives, they could be doing more to address the pressures of work that cause stress in the first instance. She’s a vocal advocate of holistic best-practice approaches, whereby employers and employees work together to create safe workplaces. Her goal is to work with clients to help them harness the positive benefits of stress and find solutions to the impacts of work pressure. Underpinning Alison Bickell’s approach to employee assistance (EAP) counselling and coaching is more than 20 years in the workforce in a variety of roles in management and marketing and communications across local government, the not-for-profit sector and private enterprise.
